My wife and I visited Woolaston Court yesterday (Friday 10 JUN 11) and fished the top lake. A very enjoyable afternoon in great surroundings with great staff and hospitality. The fishing is fantastic. What a wonderful place to spend your money.
I used a white and sparkly lure type fly that I bought from the shot just before fishing, it was recommended by Dan in the shop and it worked a treat. I was catching within 15mins of starting to fish.
I highly recommend Woolaston. It doesn't get any better than this, absolutely fantastic.
A very big well done to the owners and staff for making Woolaston Court an absolutely superb place to visit and fish.

Opening day. I started fishing at just after 8 am. It was like December - grey, dark, a few degrees above freezing with a Northerly wind. I couldn't move my fingers properly. John, Chris and Stan had prepared the fishery superbly well and by lunchtime I had banked 5 trout. A hot cup of tea and a slice of pie in the hut and I was warm again. The afternoon faded badly. Very few fish moving for me and by 2 pm I had crawled along to 7 fish. Still, not a bad day I told myself, but it was now officially slo-o-o-w.

The sun came out.

I fished a fry imitation and because I now had the lake to myself I was able to cast along the bank. Bingo! The sun turned them on and by 4-20pm I had banked an incredible 24 fish! Add to that the follows, nips and lost fish and you can work it out for yourself. It was fun on every cast!

I packed away very happy, long before sundown. What a fishery! Great people, great facilities and great fun.

Absolutely first class: 3 beautifully laid out lakes, all well stocked and very fairly priced. The facilities- restaurant, shop and toilets are likewise excellent. We had a great day. Thanks must go to Stan, who works there Wednesdays and Fridays, and who was extremely helpful to my novice mate, helping him with his casting, and as an extra bonus; presenting him with a rather fine fly.

I really enjoy the fishing at Woolaston court as well as a cup of coffee and a chat with Stan as its such a beautiful place. I would like to fish more but as I am retired now and no longer have a car I was wondering if there is any one who lives in the Gloucester area who fishes at Woolaston court would be interested in sharing the traveling cost as catching the two buses is a bind,or pay £10 towards their entrance for fishing. I've had several trips to Woolaston and each time have had a great day. Some days harder than others but the reception is always friendly, free cups of tea and free advice. Good fighting fish and good value for money compared to some fisheries closer to my home in Berkshire!

me and my mate found woolaston via there website we visited woolaston last year (2009).first time the weather was mild and showery(rain).the fishing was real good.the second time the weather was atroshuse,real heavy rain gale force winds but we still caught our fish.today our third visit to woolaston {march 1st 2010}will be very hard to forget a very good days fishing and i must say what exellent condition the fish are hard fighting full finned and no disease.i wouldgive 10/10 thanks and we will be back..best try {damsel}
